We Tried Everything Before We Built This Kit. Here's What Made the Cut.
Every product we bring earned its place. Here's exactly what we use in each room, why it made the cut, and why all of it is non-toxic and safe around your kids and pets.
We've shown up to jobs confident in a product that ended up letting us down. We've sprayed, scrubbed, and tested more products than we can count, and every time something didn't meet our standard, we went back and found something better. What's in our kit today isn't what we started with. It's what survived. Below is every product we use, what we use it on, and exactly why it earned its spot — the same kit we bring to every recurring standard clean.
Are your cleaning products safe for kids and pets?
Yes. Every product in our kit is non-toxic and safe to use around children and animals. We don't use anything that's meant to harm a person or a pet, and we don't use bleach anywhere in your home except inside the toilet bowl, where a bowl cleaner does its job and gets flushed. That's the only bleach, in the one place it stays contained. Everywhere else, it's the family- and pet-safe kit below.
The short version: non-toxic, family- and pet-safe products throughout — and no bleach anywhere in your home except inside the toilet bowl.
Why we bring our own products (and don't use yours)
We bring our own products to every clean and don't use anything a client supplies. That's not us being rigid — it's us being responsible. If a product is mislabeled or stored wrong and something goes sideways, that's on us. We'd rather control exactly what goes into your home than pass that risk on to you. Because our kit is already non-toxic and safe around kids and pets, there's nothing you need to set out or stock before we arrive.
We did the trial and error so you don't have to
Before we landed on the products we use today, we went through a lot of things that didn't make the cut. Clorox wipes were one of the first to go — convenient, but they weren't cleaning at the level we expected. The DIY vinegar, Dawn, and water mix that gets passed around the cleaning world didn't cut it either. Scrubbing Bubbles soap scum remover was another one: too runny, sliding right off the shower wall before it could do anything useful. Every product we use now earned its place. We don't bring something into your home unless we've trusted it ourselves.
The kitchen
- Sink — Bar Keepers Friend One of our favorites. It doesn't just clean a stainless sink, it polishes it. Water spots, buildup, and dullness are gone, and you can see the result immediately.
- Stovetop — La-Awesome degreaser + razor blade Baked-on residue isn't something a spray and a paper towel handle. We use La-Awesome to cut the grease and a razor blade to lift anything cooked onto the surface, so the stovetop is actually clean, not just visually passable.
- Stainless appliances — Weiman Made specifically for stainless steel. It cleans and leaves a protective finish that keeps fingerprints and smudges off the fridge and dishwasher exteriors between cleans.
- Countertops — granite cleaner + Fabuloso Stone counters get a granite-safe cleaner that won't break down the sealant over time. Everything else gets Fabuloso — a workhorse that cleans well and leaves no film behind.
- Floors — steam mop + Method Our favorite combo in the whole kit. We steam mop instead of traditional mopping because the heat actually disinfects the floor, then pair it with Method floor cleaner. A regular mop pushes dirty water around; steam changes what clean floors mean.
The bathroom
- Toilet — La-Awesome + Clorox bowl cleaner La-Awesome on the outside — seat, lid, base, and behind — and Clorox bowl cleaner inside the bowl. Every surface covered, nothing missed. The bowl is the only place bleach is used in your home.
- Counters, sink & fixtures — Fabuloso The same product we trust in the kitchen handles the countertops, sink basin, and faucet fixtures cleanly.
- Mirror — Sprayway glass cleaner A streak-free mirror every single time. Quick, effective, and it actually delivers where not every glass cleaner does.
- Floors — steam mop + Method The same system as the kitchen. Steam plus Method, every time.
Deep-clean add-ons: showers, ovens & more
Our deep cleans go further, and so does our product list.
- Shower — Ecolab bathroom cleaner + drill brush Most soap scum removers are too thin and slide off the wall before they can work. Ecolab stays put and is thick enough for our drill-powered scrub brushes to work it in — that's what actually removes soap scum and hard-water buildup instead of just hiding it.
- Oven & microwave — Ecolab degreaser The oven is one of the most neglected surfaces in most homes and needs real power. We spray Ecolab degreaser, let it penetrate the grease, then scrub and wipe clean. It's one of those before-and-after moments clients always notice.
- Dusting, all rooms — Pledge + microfiber Microfiber doesn't push dust around — it picks it up and holds it. Paired with Pledge dust spray, we're actually removing dust from your surfaces, not relocating it to the air or the floor.
Product and safety FAQs
Do you use bleach when you clean my home?
Only inside the toilet bowl. We use Clorox bowl cleaner in the bowl, and then it's flushed. Nowhere else in your home do we use bleach — the rest of the kit is non-toxic and family- and pet-safe.
Can I ask you to use my own cleaning products?
We bring our own products to every clean and don't use products a client supplies. It's a liability and quality-control decision: if a product is mislabeled or stored wrong, we'd rather control what goes into your home than pass that risk on to you. Our kit is already non-toxic and safe around kids and pets, so there's nothing you need to supply.
Does your steam mop actually disinfect floors?
Yes. We steam mop instead of traditional mopping because the heat disinfects the floor rather than just cleaning it. A regular mop pushes dirty water around; steam sanitizes the surface, and we pair it with Method floor cleaner in both the kitchen and the bathroom.
Clean home, nothing to worry about
We put real thought into what goes into your home — a non-toxic, family- and pet-safe kit we bring ourselves. If you're in River Falls, the Twin Cities, or anywhere in between, we'd love to show you what that looks like.
